Carshalton Street O

Carshalton, United Kingdom • 18 Nov 2025

Event overview

Carshalton Street O takes place on Tuesday 18th November as the third event in a series of eight Street O events organised by MVOC. The Winter Street O Series runs between September and April at local venues within the Mole Valley area. Start and finish are located in the outside area of The Hope pub, 48 West St, Carshalton SM5 2PR; the pub will provide food and post-race refreshments. Online entries close at 4pm on the day of the event. If the event is cancelled, entry fees will be refunded after deduction of unavoidable club expenses.

Format and practical information

The event is a score-orienteering format with controls shown on a 1:10,000 map created from OpenStreetMap. Participants visit as many controls as they can within the time limit; there is no set route. Timing is managed using MapRun (MapRun7) and MapRunG for some smartwatches. MapRun is required for this series and courses should be pre-downloaded from the folder UK > Mole Valley > StreetO 25-26 Series.

  • 60 minute Score - main course; points awarded per control, 1 point penalty per 2 seconds late.
  • 40 minute Score - shorter option; net score after penalties is multiplied by 150% and included in main results.

Entry fees: Club member £3.50, non-member £5.50, Mole Valley members free. U16s must be accompanied by an adult. Competitors are asked to wear high-visibility clothing or reflective strips, carry additional lighting and a whistle. Parking is limited on site; alternatives include Carshalton station (about a 5 minute walk), Carshalton High Street, and nearby roads. Results will appear in the MapRun app and on the club website after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
