Eggcellent Easter Orange Run

The Eggcellent Easter Orange Run is a timed event held at Runnymede, taking place along the River Thames. Participants have access to a 7-hour time limit, allowing them to determine their own distance by completing multiple laps of a central course. This event is the first in a five-day Easter series.

The course consists of a loop which is approximately 7 km (4.37 miles) long, though this may change to a 5.28 km (3.28 mile) loop depending on the ground conditions. The terrain is a mixture of approximately 60% tarmac or well-made paths and 40% grass and light trail. The route is fully signed and follows public footpaths along the river. Available distances include:

  • 3 km
  • 5 km
  • 10 km
  • Half Marathon
  • Marathon
  • 50 km
  • Ultra Marathon

Specific turn points are provided for 3 km and 5 km distances to accommodate younger runners. Those completing at least one lap or the minimum 3 km distance receive an Easter egg themed medal. Runners who achieve a half marathon distance or further also receive specific distance pins.

Facilities at the race headquarters include toilets, changing rooms, and a cafe. An aid station at the start and finish of each lap provides a variety of sweet and savoury snacks, including vegan options. Parking is available at the Runnymede Pleasure Grounds on a pay-on-exit basis. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
