Canvey Island Trail Run

Canvey Island, United Kingdom • 25 Oct 2026

The around Canvey Island Trail Run

The event is a timed, self supported anticlockwise loop around Canvey Island that starts and finishes at Waterside Farm Leisure Centre. It is open only to participants aged over 18. A TRA permit number is listed as 7711 (TBC). Non-TRA members and UKA members pay a £2 levy. Total entry places are limited to 100.

Most of the course follows the sea wall and mixes single-track grass paths with wider concrete and gravel trails on the King Charles 3rd England Coast Path. There is an optional section where, if weather and tides allow, participants can use the lower promenade to view local artwork; either the upper or lower section may be used without penalty. A pub stop about 10k into the route serves as a check point with a complimentary drink and water refill.

There is a four hour cut off for the course. Participants must use the traffic lights and designated crossing points in the first and last kilometre or face disqualification. A relay team of tail walkers and joggers will sweep the course.

Organisers provide race numbers, pins and a bottle of water at registration and make a GPX file and a Strava route available. Lockers are available but organisers do not accept responsibility for lost or stolen items. Car parking is usually free depending on football matches. Benfleet Railway Station is about an 18 minute brisk walk away or a shorter ride by bicycle. Toilets are available in the leisure centre, at the Lobster Smack and by the south play area.
