Canvey Island Trail Run

The around Canvey Island Trail Run
The event is a timed, self-supported anti-clockwise loop around Canvey Island that starts and finishes at Waterside Farm Leisure Centre. It is open to over 18s only and requires that any children spectating are supervised by an appropriate adult. A TRA permit is listed as 7711 (TBC) and non-TRA and UKA members pay a £2 levi. There is a four hour cut off.
Most of the route follows the sea wall, with sections of single-track grass, and wider concrete and gravel trails on the King Charles 3rd England Coast Path. Runners have an option in one section to use the lower promenade if weather and tides allow; using either the upper or lower section carries no penalty. There is a pub check point about 10 km into the route where runners can check in with a timer, take a drink, and refill water bottles. A relay team of tail walkers and joggers will sweep the course.
Race numbers, pins and a bottle of water are available at registration. Participants are advised to download the GPX file and follow the route on Strava or use the race narrative. Lockers are available but the organisers do not accept responsibility for lost or stolen items. Participants must use traffic lights and designated crossing points in the first and last kilometre or face disqualification. Recommended items to carry include a mobile phone, layers, and a lightweight running jacket. Car parking is generally free depending on football matches and the route is about an 18 minute brisk walk from Benfleet Railway Station.
