Wye King Challenge 10k & Half Marathon

The Wye King Challenge returns in 2026 with a new event HQ at Wye Village Hall & Recreation Ground in Wye, located between Canterbury and Ashford. The event offers two road and off‑road distance options and takes place amid valley and countryside scenery.

Distances

  • 10k - multi terrain route across country lanes and paths
  • Half Marathon - longer multi terrain route with valley and hillside sections

The route runs across mixed surfaces and along picturesque country lanes and paths. Runners pass the chalk crown carved into the hillside for King Edward VII's coronation in 1902, which provides the event name and a visible landmark on the course.

The venue provides toilets, refreshments and a small event village. Food and drink are available after the run for participants and their guests.

Entry information is published for each distance. Advanced entry fees for the 10k are £24 for affiliated club members and £26 for unaffiliated entrants, with on‑the‑day entries subject to space at £30. Advanced entry fees for the Half Marathon are £32 for affiliated club members and £34 for unaffiliated entrants, with on‑the‑day entries subject to space at £40. Under UK Athletics rules the minimum age for both the 10k and the Half Marathon is 17 years on the day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
