Bewl Water Autumn
Bewl Water Autumn is part of a bi-annual race series that starts near the Bewl Water Visitor Centre in Lamberhurst, Kent and follows a route around the reservoir. Courses run on a mix of undulating rural wooded trail and some quiet country lanes, with lake views for much of the route.
The event offers multiple race distances:
- 10 km
- Half marathon – 13.1 miles
- Marathon – 26.5 miles
- Ultra 50 km – 31.25 miles
Course formats and routing are described as follows. The 10 km is an out-and-back course with a well marshalled turnaround and a stated time limit. The half marathon begins with a short 0.6 mile anti-clockwise loop followed by a 12.5 mile loop of Bewl. The marathon includes an initial 1 mile loop followed by two 12.5 mile loops. The 50 km ultra is routed as two 12.5 mile loops followed by a final 6.25 mile loop. Specified time limits are published for each distance.
Distances were measured with a Garmin Fenix 6X Pro-Solar watch and organisers note that trail line choice can cause slight variation, with the marathon recorded as slightly longer than nominal. The event page also references GPX routes and course maps for each distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
