Knee Knackering North Shore Trail Run

The Knee Knackering North Shore Trail Run is a 30 mile foot race along the Baden-Powell Centennial Trail from Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver to Deep Cove in North Vancouver, BC, Canada. The route crosses the mountains on the North Shore and includes city, mountain and ocean views.

The course involves significant elevation change, climbing about 8,000 feet and descending about 8,300 feet over its length. The route is intended for participants with some experience in trail or endurance events.

The event began in 1989 as a group run of eight participants and expanded rapidly; by 1994 a race limit of 125 runners was reached months before race day. Entries are now determined by a random selection process that fills an expanded field of 262 runners.

The race is produced by the Northshore Ultra Trailrunning Society, a registered non-profit society in British Columbia. Since its inception the event has raised 204,000 dollars for various charities. For 2026 the organizer has opened volunteer selection and notes that general registration for runners is closed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
