Event Overview
Buckin’ Hell is a trail running event held in the North Shore Mountains of British Columbia. The race takes place on technical terrain featuring old growth forest, mountain bike trails, and woodwork. The event starts and finishes at the Mount Seymour Resort, situated atop Mount Seymour.
Distances and Course Details
Participants can select from the following race categories:
- 35 km : featuring 1700 m of vertical gain and loss.
- 50 km solo : an ultra-distance course with 2500 m of climbing and descent.
- 50 km relay : a two-person team option with legs of approximately 25 km.
- Kids Race : a non-competitive 1 km run for children.
The 50 km route begins with a direct climb from the resort area. Runners luego descend 1200 m to the Seymour River before climbing back up the opposite side of the mountain to reach the finish line. The courses utilize notable local trails including Baden Powell, Mystery Lake, Severed, and Old Buck.
Logistics and Requirements
The event provides multiple aid stations along the routes: six stations for the 50 km distance and four for the 35 km. This is a cupless race, and runners must carry their own hydration vessels. Mandatory cut-off times are enforced at specific checkpoints to ensure safety.
