Elphinstone Ascent
The Elphinstone Ascent
The Elphinstone Ascent is presented by The Coaster team as a vertical kilometre (VK). The event offers a timed ascent that awards a King or Queen of the Mountain title, or a non‑competitive climb shared with other outdoor participants. The summit is used as the meeting point.
The course is on Mount Elphinstone, overlooking Gibsons. The peak sits at 1260 m above sea level and provides views of the North Shore mountains, Tetrahedron Provincial Park and Howe Sound.
The event date is 1 August 2026. Entries open on 30 March at noon and the field is limited to 60 runners. A GPX route is provided and an associated Strava club is noted. Results and image galleries from previous years are available.
The organisers acknowledge that the event operates on the territories of the shíshálh Nation. Information published focuses on the vertical kilometre format and local context. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
