Cypress Mountain 5 Peaks Trail Running

This event takes place at Cypress Mountain in British Columbia as part of the 5 Peaks Trail Running series. The course includes singletrack sections and steep climbs on doubletrack trails.

Distances available:

  • Kid's Race 1 km
  • Kid's Race 2.75 km
  • Sport Run or Hike 6.0 km
  • Enduro Run or Hike 12.75 km
  • Grit Run 16.4 km

The Sport course mixes less technical and more technical sections. The Enduro has a technical add-on that runs past two alpine lakes and includes many natural obstacles such as exposed roots. The Grit course adds approximately 4 km to the Enduro route.

A hikers division offers a non competitive, guided option where participants walk the course with pace leaders; this division does not have a podium and participants are asked not to run. Estimated completion times are about 2 hours for the Sport course and 3 hours for the Enduro for hikers.

The event is cup free; water and an electrolyte drink are available at the start, finish and at one or more aid stations depending on the venue. Portable and on site washrooms are provided and parking is described as plentiful. On site amenities and nearby entertainment include the Eagle Coaster, indoor and outdoor dining, and axe throwing. Optional sustainably sourced wooden finisher medals can be purchased and awards are presented to top finishers once results are compiled.
