Cypress Mountain 5 Peaks Trail Running

This is the third race of the 5 Peaks Trail Running Series at Cypress Mountain in British Columbia. The course combines technical singletrack sections with steep climbs on doubletrack trails.

Distances offered:

  • Kid's Race ~ 1 km
  • Sport Run or Hike 6.0 km
  • Enduro Run 11.6 km
  • Grit Run 14.1 km

The Sport course includes both less technical and more technical sections. The Enduro features a technical add-on that runs past two alpine lakes and includes many roots. The Grit route adds about 4 km to the Enduro distance. There is a non-competitive hiker division led by pace leaders; hikers walk the course without running, do not appear on the podium, but are entered into prize draws. Estimated finish durations for hikers are about 2 hours for Sport and 3 hours for Enduro.

The event is cup free. Water and an electrolyte drink are available at the start, finish, and at one or more aid stations. The on course electrolyte beverage is Blonyx Hydra+. Participants expected to be out longer than an hour should carry a reusable container for fluids and nutrition.

Washrooms are located on the patio adjacent to the main lodge near the start and finish. Spectators are welcome with best viewing from the start and finish area. Parking is plentiful. Optional swag and sustainably sourced wooden finisher medals can be purchased and all awards and swag must be collected at the event.
