Kirkcaldy Parks 5K 2026

The Kirkcaldy Parks 5K is part of the Kirkcaldy Parks Running Festival and takes place on 29 August 2026. The event will be held at Dunnikier Park, Kirkcaldy, with race headquarters and the start and finish located within the park. All festival events take place across the two days of the festival weekend.

The course is a single 5K loop that leaves the park and runs through gently undulating woodland, around the outside of the golf course, and returns to finish in the park. Surfaces on the route include grass, tarmac, gravel, soft trail and field edge, so appropriate footwear should be considered. The race is held under UK Athletics rules and is a Scottish Athletics permit event. Minimum age on the day is 12.

The organisers operate as a non profit organisation and state that financial inclusivity is an objective. Sponsors contribute to help keep entry fees low. The event lists Maggie’s Fife as its official charity partner; the organisation marked its 20 year anniversary in 2026.

Entry opens on 25 April 2026. Transfers of entries to another person are allowed up to the closing date; refunds and deferrals are not available. A one hour time limit will apply to the race; participants finishing after this time will receive a medal but an official time cannot be guaranteed. Parking guidance asks participants and spectators to avoid certain park car parks and notes an overflow NHS car park nearby. Public transport links are available close to the park.
