Bow, United States • 12 Jul 2025
Kill Bill’s Oyster Dome Challenge is a challenging trail running event held on Blanchard Mountain near Alger, Washington. Participants can choose between a 25k or a 50k race, with the 50k consisting of two loops of the 25k course. The course features tough climbs, including the infamous Kill Bill Hill, a steep ascent named in tribute to local ultra runner Bill Ball.
Runners traverse scenic single-track trails like the British Army Trail and Alternate Incline Trail, culminating at Oyster Dome with stunning views of Samish Bay. Unique to the event is the tradition of eating a freshly shucked oyster at the summit. Aid stations provide refreshments, and a strict no-trace ethic is enforced.
Parking is limited, requiring a Discover Pass and encouraging carpooling. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
