Kill Bill's Oyster Dome Challenge

Bow, United States • 12 Jul 2025

Kill Bill’s Oyster Dome Challenge is a challenging trail running event held at Blanchard Mountain, Washington. Participants can choose between a 25k or a 50k race, with the 50k consisting of two loops of the 25k course. The course features a tough ascent known as Kill Bill Hill, a tribute to local ultra runner Bill Ball, and includes rugged, rocky, and root-covered trails.

Runners traverse the British Army Trail and Alternate Incline Trail, enjoying canopy-covered single track and scenic views of Samish Bay and Oyster Dome. A unique feature is the tradition of eating a freshly shucked oyster at the summit. The race emphasizes a no-trace ethic and offers aid stations with water, sports drinks, and snacks.

Parking is limited, requiring a Discover Pass, and carpooling is encouraged. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
