Fidalgo Trail Run

Fidalgo Trail Run takes place in Deception Pass State Park with a start and finish at Bowman Bay. The event offers multiple course options:

  • 5 Mile
  • Half marathon
  • Full marathon

Courses use a combination of loops, lollipops, and out-and-back segments that visit Rosario, Lighthouse, and Lottie Points. Half and full marathon runners continue around Pass Lake, cross the Deception Pass Bridge on the pedestrian walkway, follow the Goose Rock loop, and run an out-and-back to West Beach. Marathon runners complete the half marathon loop twice. The Deception Pass Bridge remains open to traffic during the event and has a height of about 180 ft.

Elevation gain is listed as approximately 1300 ft for the 5 Mile, 3300 ft for the Half, and 6600 ft for the Full. Aid stations are placed along the courses; the full event notes locations at several mile markers. Trails in the park remain open to other users during the race, so participants may encounter hikers and park visitors.

Additional event details include cupless racing requirements so runners must carry a refillable container, limited parking at Bowman Bay with shuttle parking provided for half marathon participants, a free youth Woodland Speeders race of about 0.6 miles along the beach, and handmade finisher swag produced in Anacortes.
