Fairhaven Frosty
Fairhaven Frosty is a community running event held at Fairhaven Park in Bellingham, WA. The event includes multiple short-course races and family activities.
- 10k (two laps of the 5k course)
- 5k (one lap)
- Little One's Run (approx. 1/2 mile for children)
The 5k course follows a large loop on roads and hard pack trails and does not require crossing any roads. The 10k repeats the 5k route. Part of the course runs alongside busy roads; runners are directed to use sidewalks and road margins. The largest hill on the route rises about 100 feet in the first half mile.
There is water available for 10k runners at the start of their second lap. No other aid stations are provided on course. Light refreshments will be available at the finish area.
Awards are given to first place male, female and non binary runners in each race, plus age group ribbons (1st through 4th). Holiday-themed costumes are encouraged and spot costume awards will be given; holiday music will play at the start and finish. The Little One's Run is led by the Bell Creek Nature School, has onsite registration on race day, and finishers receive candy canes. The kids' 1/2 mile race is free.
Registration fees: GBRC members 11 and older $10; members 10 and under free; non-members 11 and older 5k $20 and 10k $25; non-members 10 and under $5. Bibs may be picked up at Fairhaven Runners before the race or on race day. Limited parking is available at the park with additional parking a short walk away at Fairhaven Middle School. A running shoe recycling program is offered at the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
