The Ilkley Moor Fell Race is an annual fell race organised by Ilkley Harriers, staged on Ilkley Moor. The event has been held since 1990. The senior course is 8 km long with 401 m of climbing and is graded FRA category AS. The race uses FRA rules; runners must comply with the FRA minimum kit requirements. GPS watches or equivalent devices are forbidden and there will be random checks. A no smoking policy applies to spectators, organisers and participants due to SSSI consent conditions.

Course, entry and logistics

The course is short with steep, slippery and rocky descents and is partly marked. There is a 1 hour cut-off at the Rocky Valley marshal point, about halfway along the route; runners outside this time will be instructed to retire. Entry is limited to 400 places. Pre-entry fees are listed as £8.00 for affiliated and £10.00 for unaffiliated entrants; entry on the day may be available. Teams are permitted (men 4, women 3). Minimum age is 16 on race day; under-18s who entered online must present parental consent at registration. Race HQ is at Wells Road, Ilkley LS29 9RF (OS grid ref SE117471); approach via Ilkley rather than Keighley Gate Road. Facilities at the event include toilets only; there are no water stations, distance markers, changing facilities, showers or baggage store.
