Kettlewell Trail Half

The Kettlewell Trail Half is a trail running event held in the Yorkshire Dales. The course includes approximately 900m of ascent and consists of three steep hill climbs followed by descents. The route traverses riverside footpaths and rolling moors, providing views of the Wharfedale valley. This race serves as a qualifier for the Yorkshire Three Peaks fell race.

Participants must meet a minimum age requirement of 17 years. The event follows a partially way-marked course. Mandatory kit is required for all runners, which includes a waterproof jacket, hat, gloves, a mobile phone with a location app, and a reusable cup or bottle, as no cups are provided at the hydration stations.

The race venue, including the start and finish lines, is located at the Car park field at Hawkswick Cote. Facilities at the site include toilets and free car parking for participants.

Registration takes place on the morning of the event at the race venue for the collection of race numbers. The event offers several amenities for runners, including:

  • Drinks stations providing water and juice
  • A post-race meal such as pie or soup
  • A bottle of beer and merchandise
  • Goodies from event sponsors

Prizes are awarded to the top three male, female, open, and non-binary finishers. Additionally, awards are available for the first finishers in age categories ranging from V40 to V70+. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
