The Ian Charlesworth Hartcliff Hill is a BS category fell race. The marked and marshalled course does not require navigation or prior fell running experience, but runners should familiarize themselves with the route. Course Details
The distance is 4.6 miles (7.4 km) with 709 ft (216 m) of ascent. The race starts and finishes in Penistone on playing fields next to a bowling club. The course is the 2025 route, a change from a previous start point near Langsett reservoir.
Registration & Entry
Pre-entry is required and will cost £6. Registration takes place at the Penistone Bowling Club. The minimum age to enter is 17 as of 31 December 2026, per Fell Runners Association (FRA) rules. The race is held under a permit from the FRA. Participants under 18 who are not accompanied by a parent or guardian must bring a completed parental consent form.
Background
