Peak District Birthday Bash

The Peak District Birthday Bash takes place on Saturday 18 April 2026. The event is based in Castleton at The Peveril Centre and runs over routes in the central Peak District.

The event offers two course options:

  • 70 km full route around the central Peak District
  • 35 km shorter option approximately half the distance

The minimum age to enter the event is 18. Specific course age limits apply: the Full Bash 70 km requires entrants to be 20 years or older, and the Half Bash 35 km requires entrants to be 18 years or older.

Entries open on 27 May 2025 and close on 5 April 2026. Entry fees vary by course and affiliation status, with the Full Bash priced at £70 for affiliated entrants and £72 for non affiliated entrants, and the Half Bash priced at £43 for affiliated entrants and £45 for non affiliated entrants.

The route is described as showcasing varied Peak District landscapes and is organised as a celebration of the anniversary of the formation of the Peak District National Park. A long BL fell race around Wadsworth with navigational sections and mandatory FRA kit. The route is about 19.3 miles (31 km) with 1110 m ascent. Pre entry closes 6 February 2026 and very limited places may be available on the day.

The Drop 6 is a blindfolded, **6-mile** microadventure for people living 30+ miles from the venue; participants are dropped in an unknown location and must return to HQ without GPS or maps, solo or in teams of up to four.

A winter fell race from the Rams Head Inn across moorland and the Pennine Way, roughly 12 miles with 2100 feet of ascent. Checkpoints provide basic supplies and full FRA winter kit is required.

A chip timed 5k, 10k and half marathon around Heaton Park with mainly path running and one trail section. The event supports Shelter, offers medals and on-course marshals, and includes accessibility for buggies and most wheelchairs.
