Hyner Half - North Bend, PA

The Hyner Half is a trail race held at Hyner Run State Park that uses trails in Sproul State Forest. The event is open to runners and speed hikers only. Timing and aid support are organized around a strict six hour cut-off, and walking the course would make finishing within that limit impossible.

Distances offered:

  • 14 mile course
  • 7K course that shares the first 2.5 miles and returns with a roughly 2 mile downhill finish

The selected trails move through varied terrain and include significant climbing and descending. The 7K route includes more than 1,000 feet of elevation gain and about 1,000 feet of elevation loss within approximately 4.5 miles. There are three aid stations located at mile 4, mile 8, and mile 11.5. The park has a swimming pool that runners may use during the day.

Registration opens December 16 and closes on Saturday, August 1 at 11:59 PM ET. The event policy states there are no refunds, deferments, bib transfers, or unregistered participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
