Black Forest Ultra - North Bend, PA

The Black Forest Ultra is a trail ultramarathon in North Bend, Pennsylvania, based at 86 Hyner Park Road. The primary race distance is 100K on the Black Forest Trail.

The course is a lollipop route with more than 13,400 ft of elevation gain. Some sections include climbs of over 1,000 ft in under a mile. The course reverses direction each year, so the majority of elevation gain alternates between the front and back halves.

Terrain passes through a variety of forest types, including pine plantations, giant hemlocks, and red spruce, with multiple viewpoints across surrounding peaks and valleys during fall foliage. Race materials include course maps, aid station charts, bib pickup locations, results, photos, and service requirements.

Event rules prohibit crews, pacers, and spectators. The race is linked with the Pennsylvania Triple Crown and the Blacklist series and serves as the final event for competitors pursuing that season-long combination. Registration closes on Sun, Sep 20 at 11:59 PM ET. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
