Boulder Beast - Lock Haven, PA

Boulder Beast takes place on Bald Eagle Mountain in Lock Haven, PA, on September 20, 2025. The event is presented by PA Trail Dogs and is described as the 10th annual running. The main route is about 24 miles with approximately 6,000 feet of vertical gain. A shorter option is offered as a 25K that reaches the boulder field and Rote Overlook before returning to the finish.

Registration, fees and cut-offs

Registration opens December 16 via Ultrasignup and is limited to the first 600 entrants or the September 1 registration deadline. Entry fees listed are $80 for the 25K and $90 for the 24-mile race. Race policy specifies no refunds, no bib transfers, no deferments, no selling of bibs, and no unregistered participants. There are strict cut-off points on course: participants must reach the bottom of the boulder field (mile 6.5) by 10:30am; the Boy Scout aid station (mile 8) has an 11:00am cutoff for 24-milers and 1:00pm for 25K entrants; Zindel Park (mile 11), Vets+ (mile 16) and Leadership CC (mile 21) have additional cut-offs to ensure finish within daylight.
