Boulder Beast - Lock Haven, PA
Boulder Beast is a trail event based at the Castanea Township Fire Company picnic grounds in Lock Haven, PA (859 Lower Creek Rd). The course includes a notable boulder field and passes the Rote Overlook.
The route follows named trails including Goat Path, Lightning Ridge, Gut Check, Black Diamond, Crossover, Fleming Way, Chestnut Flats and the Gorge Trail. Camping and parking are available on site with no reservations required.

Logistics note: a pre-race party and bag pick-up occur Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A post-race picnic with food and beverage is provided at the finish area.
Registration opens December 16 at 7:00 PM EST via ultrasignup, and the event is limited to the first 600 runners or the September 1 registration deadline. Entry fees are listed as $80.00 for the 25K and $90.00 for the 25 miler. The event policy disallows refunds, bib switches, deferments, selling of bibs, and unregistered participants.
The event enforces strict cut-off times at specified aid stations to ensure runner and volunteer safety. Examples include the bottom of the boulder field at mile 6.5 (10:30 AM), Boy Scout aid station at mile 8 (11:00 AM for 25 milers, 1:00 PM for 25K), Zindel Park at mile 11 (12:30 PM), Vets+ at mile 16 (3:00 PM) and Leadership CC at mile 21 (5:00 PM).
