The Smallfoot Trail Fest is a trail running event for children aged 12 and under. The course is approximately 3 miles long, featuring small hills, possible stream crossings, and muddy sections. The route is well-flagged with volunteers stationed along the way. An aid station is provided at the halfway point.

Registration is free but required in advance, with a cut-off at 250 participants. Parents or guardians may run with their children but should not register themselves for the race. The event includes a lunch and other activities afterward. The organizer states photos and video may be used for promotional purposes.

This event is part of the Rocksylvania Kids Trail Series, which includes two other races. To earn a series prize, participants must complete all three races in the series.
