Think Big Trail Challenge
South Williamsport, United States • 5 Oct 2025
Event overview
The Think Big Trail Challenge is a trail running event held at the Williamsport Municipal Water Authority on Mosquito Valley Road in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Distances offered:
- 5K
- 10K
Proceeds benefit the Think Big Pediatric Cancer Fund in memory of an individual. The event is the continuation of a former Salvation Army race. Race swag is guaranteed for the first 200 registrants and parking is limited, so carpooling is encouraged.
Course and logistics
Both courses use a mix of gravel roads, singletrack trails, historic sites, and rolling terrain. Trail sections named in the course include Remington Road, Shuler Woods Road, Shelterwood Trail, Aqueduct Trail, the Green Bridge, the Bluebird Trail, and the Pocowanache Trail. The Bluebird Trail provides the final approach to the finish. The Pocowanache Trail includes steeper climbs, rocky terrain, and descents; the 10K extends onto this trail and reaches a scenic vista before returning to the finishing section.
There will be one aid station at the Green Bridge for participants in both distances. Awards are offered by gender for first place in age divisions: 14 and under, 15-19, then in 10-year age groups up to 60+ for both the 5K and 10K. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
