Think Big Trail Challenge : South Williamsport, PA
The Think Big Trail Challenge is a trail running event held on the Williamsport Water Authority trails at 1600 Mosquito Valley Rd in South Williamsport, PA. The event offers two measured distances:
- 5K
- 10K
Both courses run on singletrack and gravel roads and combine smooth paths, rugged climbs, and flowing descents. Named trail sections include the Bluebird Trail, which provides a scenic finish with historic views, and the Pocowanache Trail, which features steeper climbs, rocky terrain, and winding descents. The 5K begins on gravel and follows Remington Road, Shuler Woods Rd, Shelterwood Trail, the Green Bridge, Aqueduct Trail, and transitions onto the Bluebird Trail at the Remington Ruins. The 10K follows the 5K route and then continues up Remington Road onto the Pocowanache Trail to a vista before returning to the shared finish on the Bluebird Trail.
Logistics and support include one aid station at the Green Bridge for both distances, limited parking with carpooling encouraged, and race day registration availability. Entry fee for each distance is $30. Race swag is guaranteed for the first 200 registrants; any remaining items will be distributed first come first served. Proceeds benefit the Think Big Pediatric Cancer Fund and support families affected by pediatric cancer; the event is a successor to the former Salvation Army race.
