Hughenden Valley Half Marathon

The Hughenden Valley Half Marathon is a trail race based at Hughenden Manor, HP14 4LA. The course covers 21.1km with about 450m of ascent and runs through the National Trust estate and surrounding woodlands. The route explores parts of Naphill, Bradenham and Hughenden and mainly uses forest paths and rural trails.

The terrain is uneven and rough in places, so trail running shoes are recommended. The course has plenty of undulation but few long or steep climbs. Navigation is provided with orange arrow markers and ribbons, and marshals are positioned on the route. A GPX file and Ordnance Survey route are available for those who wish to follow the course on a watch or phone.

There are aid stations positioned at roughly 7km, 12 to 13km and 16 to 17km; typical supplies include water, cola, Precision Fuel & Hydration gels and jelly babies. The event base at Hughenden Manor offers parking, toilet facilities and a cafe, and entry includes free parking and entry to Hughenden Manor.

Entry is priced at £32 or £30 for UKA affiliated runners. Runners must be aged 17 or older. The race is held under UKA rules with TRA licence number 7445 and features chip timing, live results, medical support, bag drop and a finisher souvenir.
