Herefordshire & Borders Summer XC League 2026

The Herefordshire & Borders Summer Cross-Country League is a four-race series taking place between early June and mid July 2026. The scheduled races and host clubs are: Race 1 on 3 June at Treworgan Farm (MonRoss Trailblazers), Race 2 on 17 June at Shobdon Airfield (Croft Ambrey), Race 3 on 1 July at Bearwood Farm (WVR), and Race 4 on 22 July at Newton Court (Hereford Couriers). The Newton Court event is licensed by the TRA (license number #8512) and is held under UKA rules.

All races are held on Wednesday evenings. Race results will be published via the Ready Set Go timing website.

After registering, bibs are allocated by Ready Set Go and passed to club captains for collection on race day; ankle timing chips are issued by Ready Set Go on race day and must be returned after each race. Bibs are to be kept for subsequent races. If a participant has already registered for the series, they do not need to re-enter.

Entry is restricted to first claim members of the following clubs: Wye Valley Runners, Hereford Couriers, Maldwyn Harriers, Ledbury & District Harriers, Hereford Triathlon Club, Croft Ambrey RC, Builth & District Running Club, Malvern Buzzards Running Club, Presteigne Pacers, Western Tempo, Hereford & County Athletics Club, Spirit of Monmouth, Monross Trailblazers, Brecon AC, Hay Hotfooters, Forest of Dean AC, Ludlow Runners and Newent Runners. Entries close on 31 May 2026. Total places are 600. The series entry is free until 31 May 2026; a service fee of 4% (minimum 50p) applies per sign-up. Trail runs nearby

A point-to-point 15 mile trail race along the Offa's Dyke footpath between Hay-on-Wye and Kington with three water stations, relay options at mid-race handover points, and age-group prizes.

A fell race held since 1986 near Blaenavon at The Whistle Inn, Garn yr Erw. The event is Category BS with options of 8 km or 5 miles and accepts entries on the day or online.

The Magic Roundabout is a 10 km trail race organised by Hay Hotfooters in the Begwyn hills above Llowes near Hay on Wye. The hilly route can offer views of the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains, with free hot and cold refreshments after.

A summer challenge on the Malvern Hills offering 27 mile and 15 mile routes with substantial ascent, checkpoints and a hot finish meal. The event is based at Colwall Village Hall and is currently full with a waiting list.
