The PIGUM 2026 is a 30 mile ultra marathon held in and around Abergavenny, Wales. The course records about 5,446 ft of elevation gain and includes an ascent of the Sugar Loaf mountain, listed at 1,955 feet. The route is mostly trail with a stated breakdown of 80% trail and 20% road. The race starts and finishes in Abergavenny.

Route and support

The course passes local peaks and ridges around Abergavenny and uses downloadable route files from Plotaroute for navigation. There are three fully manned checkpoints along the route. Checkpoints are stocked with snacks, fresh fruit, hot and cold drinks, seating, power banks and music. Organisers say dietary requirements can be accommodated at checkpoints. The event does not impose a time limit for completion.

Entry, kit and what is provided

Mandatory kit requirements include appropriate footwear, a 1 litre water carrier, a mobile phone, a head lamp or other light source, a foil blanket, a waterproof jacket and a rucksack.
