PIGUM by Pegasus 2027
PIGUM by Pegasus is an ultramarathon circuit around Abergavenny in the Black Mountains, with start and finish at Abergavenny Castle on Castle Street, NP7 5EE, UK. The route is a single loop that visits notable peaks, valleys and historic features in the Gateway to Wales.

The course visits Blorenge (561 m), Crug Hywel (451 m) and the highlight, Sugar Loaf (596 m). The full route accumulates about 6,260 feet of ascent and crosses the River Usk twice, follows sections of the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal and passes villages such as Llangattock and Llanbedr. Terrain includes trail, grass, mud, rock and some tarmac, so appropriate footwear is required.
Support and logistics for the event include three checkpoints on the 30 mile course (two fully stocked aid stations and a midpoint water stop with access to competitors’ drop bags) and one full aid station for the half. The event provides a race manual, pre- and post-race care, professional medical cover and a finisher's medal, with volunteer support from the Pegasus/Stable Adventures team known as The Teulu.
The event is organised by Pegasus Ultra Running & Stable Adventures. PIGUM also shares segments with longer Stable Adventures routes and can serve as a recce for the Epona 100 and Wild Horse South Wales 200. The Pegasus SLAM and HALF SLAM are series options for participants who complete multiple Pegasus races in 2027. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
