Hellhole 5 mile Trail Race is a trail-running event organized by Derwentside Athletic Club. The course runs approximately five miles with about 500 feet of elevation, combining tarmac, gravel and woodland trails through local woodlands, including Hellhole Wood. The race starts near Shield Row School, with parking at Shield Row Primary School and registration in the Ball Alley beer garden close to the start. It’s run under UK Athletics rules and licensed by the Trail Runners Association (TRA permit 7391). The minimum age is 16, with entry fees of £16 for UKA members and £18 for non-members.
