Haunts & Hallows Half Marathon
Haunts & Hallows is a half marathon held at First Landing State Park with the start and finish located near First Landing State Park Beach and the Cape Henry Trailhead. The course begins with an opening mile on road to allow the field to spread before moving onto the trails. Except for a short road connector, the remainder is on trails with roots, bridges, sandy sections, and rolling terrain, with approximately 300 feet of elevation gain. There is a four hour time limit to complete the course.
Directions to the event can be obtained by navigating to "First Landing State Park Boat Ramp." This route brings visitors through the 64th Street park entrance and past the start and finish areas to a large parking area roughly 1.6 to 1.7 miles beyond the entrance.
Included with entry are an entry T-shirt, a finisher beanie, and post race donuts and coffee. A photographer will be on course and photos will be free to download. Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers and to top male and female in juniors (under 21), masters (40 to 49), grand masters (50 to 59), and super masters (60 and over).
Packet pick-up is scheduled the day before at Running Etc, 1940 Laskin Rd., Virginia Beach, VA, from 12 PM to 2 PM, with last minute pick-up available at the start area on race day between 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM.
The event partners with AIDNOW; the organizer will make a donation and entrants may opt to donate during registration. Registration fees are non refundable and non transferrable except under the event pregnancy and postpartum policy which allows up to a two year deferral or a refund.
