Event overview

Haunts & Hallows is a Half Marathon held in Virginia Beach, VA, organized by Winding Way Run Co. The event takes place on the trails of First Landing State Park. The organizer will donate to AIDNOW on behalf of the event and offers registrants the option to make an additional donation. Registration is not refundable or transferable, except for a pregnancy and postpartum policy adopted by the organizer. Runners must register by October 9 to guarantee the correct shirt size; general registration closes in the days before the event.

Course, support and awards

The course runs on trail terrain with roots, bridges and sandy sections and about 300 feet of total elevation gain. There is a 4 hour cutoff for the course. Runners will encounter four aid stations stocked with Tailwind, water and soda; additional items may be available at the volunteers' discretion. Finish-line provisions include donuts from Glazed And Infuzed and coffee. All runners and volunteers receive a shirt, and all finishers receive a finisher beanie from BOCO. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers and to top male and female in the following age groups: juniors (under 21), masters (40-49), grand masters (50-59) and super masters (60 and over). Join Peninsula Track Club at Sandy Bottom Nature Park for timed loop runs on a flat 5 km lakeside course, with 8 hour, 4 hour and 5 km options. Bring your own cup for this cupless event and enjoy aid station treats and a homemade medal.

Take on the Swammie Shuffle 200, a more than 200 mile self supported coastal ultra starting at Sandbridge with 5.5 days to finish, passing lighthouses and Corolla wild horses. Limited spots and proceeds benefit veterans.

Run the scenic Long Creek 60K or 30K at First Landing State Park in Virginia Beach through maritime forest, cypress swamp and beach shoreline. The 30K is one loop, the 60K two loops, with aid stations and a reusable SpeedCup.

Run a scenic 50K two loop course at First Landing State Park in Virginia Beach on December 13, 2026, with aid stations and a lively finish. Finishers get a Brooks shirt and medal and can celebrate at a brewery party.
