The Virginia Run for Cancer is a 24 hour running event held in Hampton, Virginia, at 1255 Big Bethel Road. The event offers both 24 hour solo and 24 hour team formats on a flat, all-dirt nature park loop of 3.75 miles. The course is USATF certified (VA12075RT).
Registration opens January 1. Entry is listed at $75 for both individual and team participants and the field is limited to 200 entries. Pacers are permitted after dark. Walkers of all abilities are welcome.
Awards and milestones include special engraved plaques for first place male, female, team, and top fundraiser, technical T-shirts for all entrants, and wooden plaques for runners who complete milestone distances:

Additional recognition includes 500-mile club jackets and 1000-mile buckles for repeat participants. Course records are noted as Male 135 miles, Female 131 miles, and Team 1052.75 miles. Volunteer lap counters are provided, and organizers also seek volunteers to assist with lap counting. On-site liquid refreshments are available; runners are expected to bring personal food and hydration, and pizza may be provided for dinner.
