Virginia Run for Cancer

The Virginia Run for Cancer is a 24 hour solo and team endurance run held in Hampton, VA at 1255 Big Bethel Road. The course is a flat 3.75 mile all dirt nature park loop and is USATF certified (VA12075RT). Walkers are welcome.

Registration opens January 1 and the field is limited to 200 entries. The registration fee is $75 for both individual and team members. Team registration asks teammates to note their team and team captain during sign-up; the team with the highest total miles receives its name on a perpetuity plaque.

Lap counting volunteers are provided and pacers are allowed after dark. On-site liquid refreshments are available; runners are responsible for their own food and hydration and pizza may be provided for dinner. Runners are advised to bring flashlights for night running. Camping arrangements are available locally.

Awards include engraved plaques for 1st place male, female, team and fundraiser. Wooden plaques are given to runners who complete these distances:

  • 50 miles
  • 62.5 miles
  • 75 miles
  • 100 miles
  • 125 miles

All entrants receive technical T-shirts. Returning participants may earn 500 Mile jackets and 1000 mile buckles. Course records listed are: male 135 miles, female 131 miles, team 1052.75 miles. A 12 hour endurance run at Oak Grove Lake Park in Chesapeake VA on repeated 1.5 mile loops. The tree lined, unpaved course circles the lake, has one aid station, and is limited to 60 runners.
