Long Creek 60k/30k : First Landing State Park, Virginia Beach
The Long Creek 60k/30k is a trail running event in First Landing State Park, Virginia Beach, scheduled for Sunday April 19, 2026. The course runs through maritime forest, cypress swamp, salt marsh and bay shoreline, and includes stretches along the beach of Broad Bay.
The route uses all nine park trails: Long Creek, White Hill Lake, Cape Henry, Kingfisher, Fox Run, High Dune, Bald Cypress, Osmanthus, and Osprey. The course begins and finishes at the boat ramp side of the Narrows. The 60k covers two loops of the course and the 30k covers one loop. All finishers under the time limit receive a custom finisher award. The time limit for both events is ten hours.
Aid stations are located at Long Creek/64th St., Cape Henry/King Fisher, and Cape Henry near the trail center. The longest gap between aid is about five miles. Stations provide Tailwind, water, soda, gels, pickle juice and assorted foods such as pb&j, chips, bacon, potatoes and cheese quesadillas. This is a cupless race; each entrant receives a custom 200 ml collapsible SpeedCup.
Packet pickup is on Saturday April 18, 2026 at Running Etc. Virginia Beach, 1940 Laskin Rd. #302, from 3 to 5 pm. Several training loops and course variations are described for preparation and other related events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
