Gods Own Backyard Ultra Fall

Gods Own BYU Fall, Hunters Greave (Leeds) 14 November 2026

Gods Own BYU Fall follows the Backyard Ultra format. Competitors set off on the hour every hour to complete a 4.167 mile loop. To continue to the next hour a competitor must complete the loop within the hour; those who do not are recorded as DNF. The event continues until one person completes a loop alone and is crowned the champion.

The venue is Hunters Greave, Pollard Lane, Hawksworth, Leeds LS5 3BF. The course is not flat and includes elevation gain on each loop. Surfaces include canal towpath, farmland trail, woodland trail and tarmac paths. A night loop avoids crossing the canal and uses a tarmac towpath section.

On-site provisions listed for participants include hot and cold water, fruit, sweets, camping, toilets and first aid cover. The route is fully waymarked and marshalled. All participants receive a Yorkshire goodie bag and t shirts and hoodies will be available during the event. Camping facilities are available at the start and finish; campervan space is limited and must be pre-arranged. The easiest access is via Kirkstall Forge rail station, a short walk from the venue.

Participants must wear clothing appropriate for prevailing weather; the event team may not allow those judged unsuitable to continue. A headtorch and spare batteries are advised for running into the night. The event has a minimum age of 18 and is part of the Backyard Ultra Series, with a pathway to a BYU Championship place.
