Gods Own BYU Fall

The Gods Own BYU Fall is a backyard ultra format event held at Hunters Greave in Leeds. Participants aim to complete a 4.167 mile loop every hour. To remain in the competition, runners must finish each loop within the 60 hour time limit and be present at the starting area when the bell sounds for the next lap.

The event continues until only one person remains. This final runner must complete one solo loop to be crowned the champion, while all other participants receive a Did Not Finish (DNF) result. The winner may also earn a qualifying opportunity for the BYU Championship.

The course features a variety of terrain and conditions:

  • Day Course: A multi-terrain loop including canal towpaths, farmland trails, woodland trails, and tarmac paths. This section includes elevation gains throughout the yard.
  • Night Course: A specific route used after dark to avoid crossing the canal, consisting primarily of tarmac canal towpaths.

Participants are required to bring appropriate clothing for the weather, and a headtorch with spare batteries is mandatory for night running. The venue is located near the Kirkstall Forge rail station and encourages the use of public transport.
