Event overview

The Glen Lyon Ultra Marathon is a 31 mile foot race on 6 June 2026 in Glen Lyon and Glen Lochay, Perthshire (Loch Lyon / Glen Lyon Dam area, PH15 2PX). The course records about 3,500 ft of ascent and is eligible for 2 UTMB points. The event has a total entry allocation of 180 places. Race entry fees are shown as £63 (discounted) and £65 (standard).

Course

The route is about 85% off road with a middle section of tarmac. It begins with a loop of Loch Lyon that includes around six river crossings; several water crossings occur in the first 8 miles and may leave feet wet. The route climbs over a hill into Glen Lochay, follows a high and low level section, then returns over the hill to finish in Glen Lyon. Water stations and checkpoints are located at approximately 8, 15.5 (halfway drop bag), 20, 26 and the finish (about 31 miles). A Route B will be used if the water crossings are in spate after heavy rain.

Camping is available at Loch Lyon Dam the night before and runners’ toilets are provided there. The race fee includes a race memento, goody bag and a technical race t-shirt or vest.
