The Glacier Glide is a pursuit-style Nordic ski race held at the Glacier Nordic Center at the Whitefish Lake Golf Course, NORTH Course. The event has been run in Whitefish since 1983. Races use separate classic and skate events, and combined results are calculated for pursuit challenges. The event is fluoro-free under a fluorocarbon wax policy. The race is part of the Montana Nordic Cup series; points are awarded from individual race times. Lunch of chili and mac and cheese is included with race entry; non-racers may buy lunch for $8.

There are two pursuit challenges: the Pursuit Viking Challenge combines the 10 km classic and 10 km skate, and the Junior Pursuit Viking Challenge combines the 3.5 km classic and 3.5 km skate. The Viking Pursuit Challenge winner receives a free entry into the 2027 American Birkebeiner 50 km. Fees vary by event and increase for same-day registration. Registration closes one hour before each race. Awards include overall male and female winners and youth ribbons. Timing and results are handled by a competitive timing provider.
