Herron Half Marathon

Event overview

The Herron Half Marathon, 10K and 5K are trail races presented by the Foy’s to Blacktail Trails Organization. Distances offered include:

• Half Marathon
• 10K
• 5K

Proceeds and donations support building and maintaining the 34-mile Foy’s to Blacktail trail system. The races are part of the Flathead Race Series. Swag bags and sponsor giveaways are handed out to finishers, and race results and course records are maintained by the timing partner and organizers.

Logistics and policies

Race bibs and packets are available for pick up at Flathead Running Company and on race day at the Herron Park pavilion. There is a free informal kids’ race for participants under 13; it is not officially timed, and the top three of each gender are recognized. Aid stations will not provide cups, so participants should carry their own bottle to use with water or electrolyte drinks. Parking is available in the main Herron lot and an additional stable parking lot; volunteers will direct traffic and wear bright vests. Spectator dogs must be leashed and cleaned up after; dogs are not allowed to run in the races.

Organizers reserve the right to cancel events for safety reasons, including active wildfires or poor air quality. If canceled for wildfire or a natural disaster, participants may defer registration at 50% value or donate their registration.
