Herron Half Marathon, 10K and 5K Trail Run
The Herron races are a set of trail events held at Herron Park in Kalispell on June 20, 2026. This is the 14th annual presentation and the first set of races in the Flathead Race Series. Proceeds support building and maintaining the 34-mile Foys to Blacktail Trails system.

Key event features and services include downloadable and interactive course maps, multiple aid stations, and race-day packet pickup. The half marathon has three aid stations along the course and the 10K has one; participants should carry their own bottle because no cups are provided at aid stations. Bear spray is required and participants must know how to use it; running with headphones is strongly discouraged for safety. Cell phone coverage is mostly present along the course but not guaranteed; aid volunteers will carry radios and phones.
Additional notes: parking at Herron Park is limited and carpooling is recommended. An informal kids race for participants under 13 is offered at no charge; top three finishers of each gender are recognized and completion stickers are provided. On-site camping is permitted for up to 20 units near the stables for a fee. Food and post-race massages are planned; prizes donated by sponsors will be awarded to attendees present at the ceremony.
Organizers reserve the right to cancel or modify the event for wildfire or hazardous air quality. In the event of cancellation due to wildfire or other natural disaster, participants may defer registration at 50 percent value or donate their registration.
