Trail Running in East Hull

Get the Hull out of Here is a trail running event based in East Hull that utilizes the TransPennine Trail. The course follows the Hornsea Rail Trail, leading runners out of the city and into the surrounding countryside. The surface is flat and composed of good trail, providing an even terrain for all participants.

The event offers several distances to accommodate different preferences:

  • 5k
  • 10k
  • 10 mile
  • Half Marathon
  • 20 mile
  • Marathon

The routes are organized as out-and-back courses. The larger distances are created by combining these sections; for instance, the 20 mile race consists of two 10 mile loops, while the Marathon combines the 20 mile and 10k routes.

Registration takes place at the Pelican Park Recreation Ground. The course is fully signed and marshalled, with feed and drink stations located approximately every three miles. These stations provide various food and drinks, though participants are encouraged to bring their own reusable cups or bottles as part of a cup-less initiative. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and a selection of treats.

On-site car parking is available at the recreation ground for a small fee which supports the Community Trust. Please note that dogs are not permitted within the grounds of the Community Trust. Runners choosing to use headphones are requested to use bone-conducting or "one in one out" styles to ensure they can hear marshals and other trail users.
