Frigid Beast Feast

Frigid Beast Feast takes place at Tickfaw State Park in Springfield, LA, where visitors pass through boardwalks spanning four ecosystems: a cypress and tupelo swamp, bottomland hardwood forest, mixed pine and hardwood forest, and the Tickfaw River. The park features a nature center with displays and an 800 gallon aquarium.

The main loop used for some races is the River Trail, a 3 mile trail that runs along the river. The course note warns that poisonous snakes and alligators may be on or near the trail. Two aid stations are listed: an unmanned halfway station with water, electrolytes, snacks, and ice, and the main aid station at the start and finish with ice, electrolyte water, soda, snacks, and fully cooked food.

Lodging options at the park include 30 improved campsites, 20 unimproved campsites, and cabins or group camp units. Cabins and group camp units provide basic cookware, utensils, dinnerware, silverware, towels, and linens; participants must supply their own food and personal items. Group camp visitors may need to bring their own dishes, silverware, towels, and linens.

On race day the start and finish area will offer a variety of food items including bacon, PB&J, chips, cookies, quesadillas, grilled cheese, pickles, candy, crackers, potatoes, gummies, sodas, water, ice, electrolytes, and vegan options. Awards include custom plaques for the top three male and female finishers, buckles for the 150, 102, and 75 mile results, and medals for the 51, 33, 15, 6, and 3 mile results. Select distances receive hoodies, beanies, runner lights, and speed cups; shorter distances receive hoodies and speed cups.
