The Firelane Trail Trial is a time trial race held on Firelane 1 in Forest Park on May 2, 2026. The course is an out-and-back of 4.45 miles with 1,266 feet of total gain and total loss; runners go all the way to the top of Firelane 1 and return to the start. The trail crosses Wildwood and Leif Erikson trails in places and includes steep sections that can reach 20 percent grade.
Starts use a time trial format with wave starts; groups of up to twelve runners depart every ten minutes. Entrant capacity is limited to 144 spots and there is no day-of-race registration. Bib pickup occurs at the start area. Race rules specific to this event include a prohibition on poles.
After the run there is a post-race gathering at Great Notion Brewing about 1.8 miles from the trailhead where a live video feed from the top of the hill and live results are available; beverages and pizza are available at the brewery. Parking at the trailhead is limited to about 20 spaces with additional nearby parking options and some street parking; organizers note carpooling or parking near the brewery as alternatives. The organizer’s cancellation policy provides a 50 percent credit if cancellation occurs more than 30 days before the event and no credit for cancellations within 30 days.
