Tillamook Burn Trail Run
Tillamook State Forest, United States • 16-17 May 2026
Event Overview
The Tillamook Burn Trail Run is a spring trail racing event held in the Tillamook State Forest of Oregon. Located at the historic Reehers Camp, approximately halfway between Portland and the Oregon Coast, the event takes place in a mountainous temperate rainforest. The courses utilize single-track trails through a second-growth forest characterized by waterfalls, stream crossings, and historic "grey ghost" snags from mid-century forest fires.
Distance Options
Participants can choose from several distance formats over a two-day period:
- 50 Miles: A point-to-point race starting at Smith Homestead and finishing at Reehers Camp.
- 55K: A loop-style race starting and finishing at Reehers Camp.
- 50M/55K Double: An option to complete both distances on consecutive days.
Logistics and Facilities
The event is staged at Reehers Camp, which serves as the hub for parking, check-in, and the finish line. For the 50 Mile race, a shuttle bus service is available to transport participants from the staging area to the start line.
Registration includes chip timing with live results, fully marked courses, and full-service aid stations. Medical support and radio communications are stationed along the routes. At the finish line, participants receive a custom award and access to a post-race meal and beverages. On-site parking is limited to one vehicle per participant, and carpooling is required for crew and spectators.
Environment and Regulations
The races are held on the traditional lands of the Tillamook, Clatskanie, and Atfalati Kalapuya peoples. The event supports trail maintenance through donations to the NW Trail Alliance and the Tillamook Forest Heritage Trust. Leashed dogs are permitted at the staging area and crew-accessible aid stations but are not allowed on the race courses. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
