The Essex AA Cross Country Relays will take place on Saturday 11 October 2025 at Hylands Park, Chelmsford, CM2 8FS. The event is hosted by Billericay Striders and follows the 2024 format for 2025. Race formats include:

  • U13/15/17 Girls - 3 legs of 3 km (1 lap)
  • U13/15/17 Boys - 3 legs of 3 km (1 lap)
  • Seniors and vets - 3 legs of 6 km (2 laps)
  • Senior Men - 4 legs of 6 km (2 laps)

Vets team categories are V40, V50 and V60.

Entry, eligibility and rules

Team managers must purchase a ticket for each team entered and include up to eight potential athletes per team for pre-checking. Each ticket must list name, club, date of birth, age on the day and England Athletics number for each potential runner. After the races, managers must complete a declarations sheet within 24 hours to confirm the runners and their running order.

Entry fees are: Junior teams £24 per team; Seniors and Vets £30 per three-runner team and £40 per four-runner team. Medals for winning teams will be awarded after each race. The event is held under UKA Rules. All athletes must be registered with England Athletics and eligible to compete for Essex by birth or by continuous residence for the nine months prior. Join the Fox and Hounds Trail in Cock Clarks near Chelmsford for a scenic 3.8 or 7.7 mile self guided trail run on 16 November, with individual timed starts and proceeds to Centre Point charity. Friendly, low key and great for club runners.

Join KNC 7 on Thursday 20 November for a MapRun Street O along the Isle of Sheppey coast from Little Oyster Car Park, Minster on Sea. Tackle a 60 minute score with 31 virtual controls and enjoy an optional Apres O nearby.

Join a regional colour coded orienteering event at Highwoods Country Park, Colchester on Sunday 7 December with courses for all abilities up to a 7.0 km Blue course. Enjoy woodland and grassland terrain, waterproof maps and a friendly vibe.
