Remembrance Sunday 2026
Remembrance Sunday 2026 is a trail running event organised by Hare & Tortoise Running on 8 November 2026 in Brightlingsea, Essex. The event includes live performances of the Last Post and Reveille before the race and a two-minute silence observed during the event as a mark of remembrance.
The course is an undulating, traffic-free, looped trail. Each loop measures 10.54 km (6.55 m). Runners may complete as many laps as they wish within a six-hour time limit; two laps equal a half marathon and four laps equal a full marathon.
This is a cupless event: participants must provide their own cup, flask, or bottle. Speedcups will be available for sale at registration. Aid stations are located at the end of every lap and at approximately 5 km on the route. Those stations provide water, squash, flapjacks, fruit, nuts and small sweet items, and runners may leave a personal bag for use at the aid station.
The race starts outside Batemans Tower Café on Promenade Way, Brightlingsea CO7 0HH. There is roadside parking and public car parks on Promenade Way. Toilets are located near Bateman’s Café in the car park at the end of Promenade Way and will be accessible before, during and after the event.
The event is UKA affiliated, holds a TRA race permit and is a 100 Club qualifying event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
