The event takes place at the Premier Inn, Lakeside Grove, Caldecotte, Milton Keynes, MK7 8HP. The venue is about 150 yards off the A5 and around 3 miles from the M1. Races are held on a lake loop around Caldecotte Lake, run clockwise.

Race format and support

Each marathon has a hard time limit of 7:00 hours; anyone finishing after this will be recorded as a DNF. The half marathon has a time limit of 4:00 hours. Race support includes a starter, timekeeper, and race referee. There is a large pub car park at the venue and water and toilet facilities supplied every lap of the lake course. Participants are required to wear suitable clothing and footwear. The event is held in accordance with 100 Marathon Club rules.

Entry, awards and conditions

Entry fees are £39.99 for the marathon and £34.99 for the half marathon. All finishers receive a unique bespoke medal. The organiser’s cancellation policy states there are no refunds; entries may be deferred up to seven days before the event and transferred to another Enigma event that is still open. Deferred entries must be used within 18 months. Entrants must be 18 years or older on race day and declare they are medically fit to take part.
