The El-Brim-Ick Hill Race takes place on 3 January 2026 and is organised by the Cosmic Hillbashers Running Club. The course is approximately 4.25 miles long with about 856 ft of total ascent. The event is run under Scottish Hill Runners guidelines.

Entry and prizes

Entry fee is £17 and entries are not accepted on the day. All entrants must be 18 or over on race day. The entry fee includes a pre-ordered meal choice: stovies with beetroot and oatcakes, or a vegan curry served with rice and a poppadom, both served with a refillable hot or cold drink. Homebakes will be available for sale. Age-category prizes are offered for male and female categories across senior, 40, 50, 60 and 70 age groups.

Course, facilities and safety

The race starts at Craibstone Golf Club, Bucksburn, Aberdeen AB21 9SX. Course markings are limited and runners are expected to be able to navigate; higher sections are exposed. No dogs are allowed on the course with runners. Marshals will be positioned at strategic locations and at the road crossing for safety and direction. Toilets and changing rooms are available at the club house. There are no water stations on the route; entrants are responsible for their own safety. Parking is available at the golf club with an overspill car park and at nearby Brimmond and Elrick car parks; parking may be limited.
