Dunstable Downs Half Marathon

The Dunstable Downs Half Marathon is a trail race held on the National Trust estate at Dunstable Downs, LU6 2GY. The 2026 edition takes place on 21 June 2026 and is listed as a UTMB World Series Index Race. The race distance is 21.2km with over 450m of cumulative ascent, set on marked trail paths.

The route starts at the National Trust centre and passes the Tree Cathedral and Bison Hill before looping around Kensworth Quarry, where an aid station sits near 10km. Runners return to the Downs for an out-and-back to Five Knoles, then follow lower Downs trails to complete the route. Navigation is provided by orange arrow markers and ribbons, with marshals at key turns. A GPX file of the course is available for download.

Two staffed aid stations are located at 6.7km and 13.7km offering water, cola, gels from Precision Fuel & Hydration, and jelly babies. The event base provides toilets, a bag drop, on-site parking (charge applies or free for National Trust members) and a cafe that opens after the race. The race is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UKA rules. Entrants must be at least 17 years old; field size is limited to 250 runners and a four hour time limit applies. A 100 mile continuous Thames Path race from Richmond to Oxford, mostly on groomed trails and riverside paths. The route gains about 1 900 ft, includes aid stations and mandatory kit checks, and must be completed within 30 hours.
