Doomsday 5K is a trail race scheduled for January 1, 2027, at Cliff Cave County Park, 806 Cliff Cave Rd, Saint Louis, MO. The event distance is 5K with approximately 272 feet of elevation gain. The course begins on pavement for about 0.5 mile, continues on the Spring Valley Trail Outer Loop for about 1.8 miles, then returns on pavement for the final 0.5 mile. Spring Valley Trail is an all-dirt trail with rolling hills and some roots and rocks; it is described as beginner friendly.
The event follows a cup-free, zero waste approach; no paper or plastic cups, plates, or utensils will be provided. Participants are asked to bring their own mug and a mess kit for post-race coffee and snacks. Post-race refreshments and a snack will be available at the park pavilion for runners and volunteers.
Registration information includes an online registration period opening on August 28, 2026 at 12:00 AM CT. Race day registration will also be accepted at a listed fee of $70. Race day registrations receive a custom pint that may be swapped for a shirt if sizes remain; all finishers receive a custom medal. Online registration options include a cotton t-shirt, a pint glass, an opt-out, or a tree planting option.
The event is organized by Terrain Trail Runners. The race partners with the Trail Mix Fund to waive registration fees for runners who cannot afford them; that partnership began in December 2025.
