The course starts and finishes a short distance past the train tracks in Cliff Cave County Park. Runners begin on pavement for about half a mile, continue on the Spring Valley Trail Outer Loop for roughly 1.8 miles, and return on pavement for the final half mile. Spring Valley Trail is an all dirt trail with rolling hills and some roots and rocks; the organizers describe it as beginner friendly.
