Dirt Run Irchester Country Park - Round 1

Dirt Run is a two-round multi-terrain series formerly called The Wellingborough Multi Terrain Series. Round 1 takes place at Irchester Country Park on Sunday 24 January 2027 and offers three distance options.

Distances:

  • 5 km
  • 10 km
  • 15 km

All three distances use the same looped course: 5 km is one lap, 10 km is two laps, and 15 km is three laps, with all entrants starting together. This edition returns to the uphill version at Irchester, run in the opposite direction to 2025. The course combines trails, paths and some road sections and features a notable hill that can be muddy.

Facilities include parking at the country park (charges may apply), toilet facilities, and a water station for 10 km and 15 km runners near the start/finish area. A small, unsecured bag drop is provided for additional clothing and small items; large bags are not accommodated. Trail shoes are recommended based on likely underfoot conditions. All finishers receive a custom medal; each round has a separate design and ribbon colours indicate distance.

The series also includes Round 2 at Brigstock Country Park, with route options that pass Lyveden New Bield, an Elizabethan lodge set among gardens and meadows. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

Trail runs nearby

A chip timed 10k at Burghley House on 30 June 2026, run over two laps on grass and paths around the estate. Open to ages 16 and over with a minimum fundraising target of £50.

A six hour endurance run on a scenic 5k loop at Marston Lodge in Marston Trussell. Fully chip timed with solo, pair, and team entry options so runners complete as many laps as they can in six hours.

A multi-terrain 5km in Fermyn Woods Country Park on Wednesday 8th July, part of the Northants 5K Series. Limited parking, bespoke finishers medals and a virtual completion option are available; entries close 23:59 on Tuesday 7th July.

A functional fitness race at Peterborough Embankment on 11 July 2026 pairing ten station Xercises with repeated 400m or 800m run legs. Entry types include solo, doubles and relay and all entrants must be 18 or over.
