Dirt Run Irchester Country Park - Round 1

Irchester, United Kingdom • 18 Jan 2026

Event overview

The Dirt Run is a two-round multi terrain series held in Northamptonshire at Irchester Country Park (Round 1) and Brigstock / Fermyn Woods Country Park (Round 2). Round 1 uses an uphill route at Irchester, run in the opposite direction to 2025, on a loop that is used by all distances. Round 2 passes near Lyveden New Bield and includes views of the Elizabethan lodge and surrounding meadows. The course mix includes trails, paths, and roads, and there is a notable hill near the start that can be muddy.

Distances

  • 5 km (Round 1 only)
  • 10 km (Round 1 only)
  • 15 km (both rounds)
  • 7.5 km (Round 2 only)

For Round 1 the loop is repeated: 5 km = one lap, 10 km = two laps, 15 km = three laps. Round 2 has single-lap courses; the 7.5 km is an out-and-back and the 15 km extends to Wadenhoe before returning.

Practical information

The course is marked with signs and marshals. There is a water station close to the start/finish for 10 km and 15 km runners. Toilet facilities are available in the country parks. Parking is available on site but may be paid and weather dependent. Trail shoes are recommended; there is no mandatory kit list. All finishers receive a custom medal, with different designs and ribbon colours for each round and distance. Small item boxes are provided at registration and will be moved to the finish; they are unsecured and large bags are not accepted. Entry fees vary by distance.
