Dirt Half Challenge : event overview

The Dirt Half Challenge is a trail half marathon held in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire on Saturday 8 November 2025. The event is described as an autumn trail half marathon that uses local parks, canal towpaths, woodland and ridge paths.

Course and logistics

The route starts in Leighton Buzzard and includes an anti-clockwise lap of Tiddenfoot Waterside Park, follows the Grand Union Canal towpath north to Stoke Hammond, climbs through countryside to Great Brickhill, passes through Rushmere Country Park woodland, follows the Greensand Ridge back to the start via the canal towpath, and finishes with a clockwise lap of Tiddenfoot Waterside Park. Parking is available at the school with free spaces (limited), and roadside parking along Mentmore Road is permitted where not on double yellow lines. An alternative paid option is the Leighton Buzzard train station car park, which offers close to 700 spaces and is about a 10-minute walk from the school. Middlesex Cross Country Championships return to Hillingdon Sports and Leisure Centre in Uxbridge on Saturday 13 December 2025. Youth and senior races from 2k to 12k, chip timed, open to clubs, schools and individuals.
