The Delano Park running event in Decatur, AL offers three entry options:

Course and facilities

The course is a USATF-certified 1.00 mile loop on an unpaved path in Delano Park, 983 Gordon Dr SE, Decatur, AL. The route is partially tree-lined, generally flat with less than 15 feet of elevation change per lap, and has aid available on each lap. There is room in the park for participants to set up a base camp the day before or on race morning. Permanent restrooms are on site and additional port-a-potties will be provided at trail side.

Registration, packet pickup and awards

Late registration for individual 12 Hour and 50 mile divisions may be accepted at packet pickup if those divisions are not full; late registrants are not guaranteed a shirt or personalized plaque. Packet pickup and a pre-race dinner take place on the evening before the event at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 801 Jackson St SE, Decatur, AL; race-day packet pickup is self-serve at Delano Park. Personalized finisher plaques are produced from the list of registered names submitted before the organizer’s deadline. Awards in the 12 Hour event are by highest mileage; 50 mile awards are by time for first male and female individuals. Partial laps do not count toward final totals. Frozen Goat at Monte Sano State Park joins the Winter Wild Thangs Trail Series with 4 Mile, 15K and 30K courses featuring bluff views, creek crossings and waterfalls. Scenic trails and a cupless format promise a true trail challenge.

The Huntsville Slam is a four race endurance challenge across Huntsville from November to January. Finish all four races within the official time limits to claim a custom embroidered Lululemon finisher garment.

Run 50K, 100K or 100 mile options on a scenic 15.5 mile loop through Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge amid birds and wildflowers on soft gravel and dirt roads. All finishers earn a Blue Heron medal and 100 mile finishers get a buckle.
