Dizzy Fifties at Monte Sano State Park, Huntsville AL

Dizzy Fifties is a trail running event organized by the Huntsville Track Club on November 21, 2026, at Monte Sano State Park. The event offers multiple looped distance options on a figure eight course that uses park trails and a pavilion aid station.

Distance options

  • 50K - 3 loops, approximately 3,000 ft total gain
  • 20 Mile - 2 loops, approximately 2,000 ft gain
  • 10 Mile - 1 loop, approximately 1,000 ft gain

The big loop begins with a flatter section using the South Plateau Loop, Firetower, and the Family Bike Trail. Around 6.4 miles the route passes near the pavilion aid station. The second half descends through Logan-Keith, includes the climb up Sinks, and returns to the pavilion. Runners must check in at the arch after each 10 mile loop.

Race support and logistics include one fully stocked pavilion aid station, allowance for personal aid on picnic tables, and reusable cups provided as part of race swag. The event is cupless and medical support is provided by HEMSI. The overall race cap is 200 runners and park entry is included with registration. Deadline to change to a shorter distance is Tuesday, November 17, 2026. Register by October 16, 2026 to guarantee shirt size.

Race rules require bibs to be worn on the front and visible, prohibit bib transfers, and state that racers must finish the distance they are registered for to receive an official result. Bicycles, strollers, pets, roller skates, and skateboards are not allowed. The use of headphones or earbuds is strongly discouraged. Packet pickup and other final details will be provided before registration opens. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
