Conquer the Cave 5K

Conquer the Cave 5K is scheduled for September 20, 2026, at 637 Cave Rd, Woodville, AL 35776. The event is a single 5K running race that includes a distinctive section through a show cave.

Runners reach the cave at about the 1.9 mile mark. The cave segment is a 0.6 mile out and back that is wide enough for two way traffic. Decorative lighting will be on inside the cave at all times and runners pick up a glow stick at the turnaround point. The cave maintains a year round temperature near 58 F. Typical race day temperatures on the surface range from a low near 54 F to a high near 79 F.

Entry is organized into multiple waves to limit the number of runners in the cave. Each wave has up to 200 participants and waves depart 30 minutes apart. Registrations have a fee of $45.00 and registration closes in mid July 2026, with exact dates varying by wave. Organizers do not move participants between waves after registration; runners who do not run in their assigned wave will not receive a finishing time.

Packet pickup is available at RunningLane in Huntsville on the Friday and Saturday before the race, and also on race day at the venue. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
