The Cathedral Caverns Trail Run takes place at Cathedral Caverns State Park in Woodville, Alabama. The event offers two distances: a 5K and a 15K. The course starts in a valley with views of mountains and fields. The final segment for both races is a 0.6-mile out-and-back section run inside the cavern itself. This cave section is wide enough for two-way traffic and is decorated with lighting.

Course and Logistics

The course is a cupless race, meaning runners must provide their own hydration system, such as a handheld bottle, pack, or reusable cup. Aid stations are located on the course and provide water, sports drinks, soda, pretzels, and candy.

The 5K race has a participant cap of 300 runners, and the 15K is also capped at 300. All registered runners receive a t-shirt and a finisher medal. Age group awards are given in categories from 0-19 up to 70+. Packet pickup is available the day before the race in Huntsville, Alabama, and on race day at the start line.
