Registration closes on Wed, Nov 12 at 11:59 PM CT. Each race is capped at 300 runners. Packet pickup is available Friday, November 14 at the Running Lane store (2407 Memorial Parkway SW Suite 1, Huntsville, AL) and on race day at the park under the tent in the parking area.
Course, services and rules
Both routes include a final cave segment that totals 1.2 miles as an out-and-back 0.6 mile segment, wide enough for two-way traffic; runners pick up a glow stick at the turnaround and decorative lighting will be on. Average race-day temperatures are listed as low 44F and high 67F; cave temperature is about 58F. The event is cupless - runners must use a handheld bottle, pack, or reusable cup; a reusable cup is available for purchase for $5. Aid stations will be on course offering water, Gatorade, Coke, pretzels, M&M’s and other items. Cutoffs: 5K - 1 hr 15 min (24:00 min/mi); 15K - 2 hr 30 min (16:40 min/mi).
