Skunk Ape Trail Run is a trail race held at Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, Alabama. It is the third race in the Wild Thangs Trail Series and offers two race distances. The event is organized by RunningLane Events and the field is capped at 400 runners. Registration closes on July 29, 2026.

The race follows spectator-friendly trails with bluff views, creek crossings, and waterfalls. Several aid stations are placed on course and provide water, Gatorade, cola, pretzels, M&M's, granola bars, and similar items. The event is run as a cupless race; participants must carry a hand-held bottle, pack, or reusable cup. A RunningLane reusable cup is available for purchase for $5.

All entrants in the Skunk Ape distances receive a short sleeve tri-blend race shirt and a finisher award; the shirt design is the same across the series. Age groups for awards are 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Packet pickup is handled by RunningLane at their Huntsville location on the Friday before each race.
